4-H Does Make a Difference!
In a recent survey of high school students in the San Bernardino area examining the impact of 4-H involvement on young people's participation in science activities and classes, 4-H members take more science courses and are also more likely to take certain specific science classes (including agriculture, AP biology, and AP chemistry) than non-4-H members.
While non-4-H members are more likely to take classes that are required, the graph clearly shows that 4-H members are more likely to take those classes that require a higher level of critical thinking and problem solving.
