Master Gardener Program
The goal of the UCCE Master Gardener program in San Bernardino County is to serve as an objective resource to the gardening public regarding sustainable landscaping, backyard food production (vegetables, fruits, and herbs) and school and community garden startup and management. Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who have completed coursework and volunteer assistance to the community. They operate an email(mgsanber@ucdavis.edu) and phone (909.387.2182) helpline where members of the general public can contact them for answers to their gardening and landscaping questions.
If you would like to become a UCCE San Bernardino County Master Gardener volunteer and have at least 50 hours of time to commit to volunteerism by June 30, 2012, we encourage you to complete the attached application. Classes begin in August 2012 and conclude in December 2012. The application deadline is June 30, 2012. The application can be submitted via email, fax, or by hard mail as detailed on the application.
If you are a professional landscaper or arborist with questions about landscape planting or maintenance, please contact environmental horticulturist Janet Hartin at jshartin@ucdavis.edu or 951.313.2023. The 2011 Turf and Landscape Institute will be conducted on December 14th, 2011 at Etiwanda Gardens Conference Center.
